today (or if you would like to call it yesterday) was my boyfriend Yushi's birthday.

we met up in Kinshicho at 3 and started walking around in the mall to look for his birthday present.
after looking around for several hours, we finally found a jacket and a belt that he liked. and me, always looking for something for myself found a few items I would like to buy. Yushi ended up buying those for me, it was like MY birthday at the same time!!! yay!!

after exhausting ourselves out from walking allday, we finally decided to have dinner. It was like 9:00pm by that time, so we went to this new chinese restaurant near my house. we had a course for about $18 a person and it was soooooo much it almost made me sick. the food was good. the service was good. their water had lemon in it (which was a BIIIIG plus);)

I gave him the other birthday present that I had for him. I got him a orange leather name-card-holder. since every 'salary-man' has that in Japan, and since he will be in a working situation in less than a month, I thought he might need it. He was really surprised to see that and told me he was just thinking about getting one himself, and he told me he liked it.

(lets see how much he REALLY likes it by seeing him use it ;)

we walked to my home, and my mom and the two of us had a chat about doing our auction business, and I walked yushi out the door.

it was a nice day that had a lot of walking, shopping and laughing.

today was my first day at work. I have a contract for a year to work for this company called Derika. they're supposed to be one of the biggest companies when it comes to having shops and i hear there are over 300 shops that they own in Japan. I work in one of them in the basement of Tokyo station. we have a lot of 'Salary-men' come in shopping for bags. yes, I sell men's bags like brief-cases and such. everything is pretty new to me, so it will take a while for me to at least be comfortable in this situation.

I started working at 11:30 and got done at 9:30. I wanted to rush home to watch "Bones" that my beloved mother recorded on DVD (and promised me she would continue doing so), but my feet seriously would not let me.

ok, picture a duck walking. you know how they walk with their butt swaying side to side, and flapping their feet as they go? take away the body and put mine on. take away the head and stick mine on it. there you go. one tired person to even walk like a human being. (of course walking around with high heels all day long didn't help much.)

so I came home, chatted with my mom for a while, watched bones and am now typing this. it's about 1 in the morning now, and I'm assuming I have a big day coming ahead, so I will retire now.

I'll tell you about my hawaiian trip later when I have all the photos from mi amigos.

for those of you who need the information about "salary-man"

those of you who read it, leave evidence that you've been here. drop a line. say something. I will appreciate it very much....;)

love you all!!
me and my mom got really bored, so I made a fake beard with seaweed.

she was in a really happy mood and wore it with this big huge smile on her face.

my dad on the otherhand was not in the mood....

I'll update this when I get back!!
long time no write, sorry about that.

Nate and I left Japan to Australia on 12th in the afternoon.
the flight was scheduled at 20:00, so as normal people would do, we went to the airline counter at 18:00, but apparently lots of people checked in much earlier, so we ended up sitting not next to eachother, but Nate sat behind me.

we arrived in Sydney at the morning of 13th. I panicked a liitle when Maki wasn't there at the airport waiting for us, but after an hour we found her waiting for us at a different gate.

Nate and I were very hapy to see her, and after some difficulties managed to set our luggage in our room at our backpackers' hotel.↓

we had pretty noisy room mates and we had quite an experience. some people were noisy and nice, some people were just noisy, others just quiet and weird. ;)  (I wonder which category we belong to..)

we had a china town right by our hotel, so we went there a lot, and chinese food was really good. thai food was good. although the living cost was much more expensive than imagined, it was definately worth it.

in Sydney, we went to see the Opera house several times, and walked quite a lot.

we had one of Maki's friends, Nicola who drove us around Sydney. it was very nice of her to do that for us, and we were very greatful;) the way Nicola and Maki were talking kind of gave us an idea of what her collage dorm would be like. they were talking and talking and talking. it was funny to see them talk;) I LOVED IT!!!

the ferry rides were great, the market was great, and everything was just superb!
