today I had the 11:30-21:00 shift at work. I closed the shop and went home thinking how poorly the sales went today. (as usual, I wasn't much help at it either :p)

when i got home, my mom said 'happy birthday!!!!' . she rushed to the kitchen and cut me a slice of coconut pie. the was the first time ever for me to have a coconut pie, and man was it great or what!!!
As I used to say so often, and Jonathan would roll his eyes at me for saying it, 'it tasted devine!'

my mom had made that cake after she came back from work. that was really sweet of her.

thank you soooo much to those of you who sent me birthday messages. that seriously made my day!! every break i got, somebody new had given me a message. if that doesn't help you get throught the day, I don't know what does!!

well, anywayz, thanks to you all, and I hope this finds you in good health and happiness.

laterz!!

hello everyone!

sorry it's been a while again, but I am here and living in this crazy city tokyo Japan.

one of my aunts emailed me today saying she hasn't heard from me in a while. I'm sure you're all wondering what your favorite Japanese girl is up to now;)

so here it goes. I have a birthday coming up soon on the 5th, and since I will be working real late that day, my family decided that my birthday was going to be the 2nd of June this year. we went out to my favorite Italian restaurant called La Ranarita. It was REALLY GOOD!!!

muah!
okay, time to update what I have been doing lately. March was a pretty crazy month for me.

after coming back from Australia with my good buddy nate, me and my collage friends went out on a little trip to Hawaii. We stayed there for a little less than a week, and had lots of fun. lots of sun, burgers, and pizza. we rented a condo so we had our own little kitchen (which turned out to be quite big.) mizuki, you still need to tell us how much we owe you for that!!!

so whenever we came home a little late for restaurants at night, we would go over to walmart and get some frozen pizza or order some in, that was pretty fun.
conv0003.jpgconv0002.jpgwe went scuba diving, we rented a car so I got to drive my 6 kids around the island in a family van. man, did that make me feel like a mom!! jk

we also had the mall right next to us, so that was pretty good for me, being a shopaholic;)

then after that, we went to Hokkaido, Japan. it's the big island above the main island. here we went to the best zoo in Japan, and it was pretty good. we also went diving. for those of you who know how cold it is in Hokkaido....yes, that's right we dove UNDER the freakin ice!! I saw these tiny little Cliones and they were sooooo cute!! the food was great too!!
conv0004.jpgconv0005.jpg

after that was Hakone. it was about an hour and a half drive from Ikko's house, and we were able to play some tennis and the next day, we were going to hot pools outdoors with our swimsuits on. tell me that doesn's sound crazy to you!!

anyways, I've been playing way too much this past month and definately am not ready to get back to work on the 5th!!
the 25th was our graduation day. we went to this huge hall and participated in an hour long ceremony that seemed like hours....
my mom got off work and we were able to go together so that was nice
314a2190.JPG I wore a traditional Hakama to the ceremony. all the other girls were wearing pink and flowers and sparkles and feathers, but I thought I could just cut the crap and just wear something simple.

so I dug out my gramma's kimono and rented the bottom that goes with it. I DID look different but I guess it looked me.

this is what the other girls looked like.

conv0008.JPG yushi and i at the hall

after the ceremony, we went to grab something to eat for lunch, and then headed to our university where the dean has something to tell us.
conv0010.JPG    conv0009.JPG

he gave us our graduation certificates and gave us a talk how not everything is as good as it seems or even bad as it seems. he told us to try hard to keep our friends from university. It was a graduation and I thought I'd cry a lot, but somewhere deep inside, I knew that these friends of mine will keep me as their friends for a LOOOONG time, so I wasn't that sad, to tell the truth.

and I certainly hope I'm right!!

he was actually one of my favorite professers. Pro.Gardner. he was this funny guy and always tries to make class a nice relaxed fun place. he tries to make students laugh by telling jokes, but most of the times, it didn't turn out that funny. just looking at him try was pretty funny;)

here are a bunch of pictures from the reception afterwards.conv0014.JPG
conv0013.JPGconv0012.JPGconv0011.JPG

o ya, I forgot to tell you. I HUG!!!! watchout people!!!

conv0015.JPG
this is how my mom got to see me all day. me trying to see EVERYBODY on the PLANET!

after this, I hurried and got my Hakama off, and got dressed up for the evening. my friends planned a party for us graduating, so we went out to Shinjuku.

this is how red when people get drunk!! HEHEHEHE
conv0016.JPGconv0017.JPGconv0018.JPG

conv0019.JPGconv0020.JPG
they gave us cake, flowers, and message cards. they were soooooo sweet!!

what did we do after that??? we went bowling!! I scored a hundred, so it wasn't that bad of a day for me;)conv0022.JPGconv0023.JPGI really appreciate the friendship and joy they brought into my life. they I hope it is not as hard to keep in touch with you as it has been for others in the past. luckily, most of us will be staying in Tokyo, so we will be hanging out, but I'm really sad that Koji is going to singapore. I will miss you, but definately will come visit you there, so you better have a room for me in your house ready!!!

lastly, thank you soo much for the party. Mizuki, Kumiko, Momoko, Marie, Yumiko, Takeshi, Hiroshi

and congrats to you graduates!!
