It was really fun. I laughed a lot, and the best thing was that the guys did all the preparation for me!!
today, I got up at around 10:30. nate said the construction workers woke him up. I forgot to mension that to him, but our next door neighbor is building a 6story building right next to us, so we get to wake up to their sweet humming voices everyday......NOT
you hear things banging and old guys shouting!!!!
well, anyways..... we started walking towards kappabashi dori that has a lot of stores that sell dished and wax food samples. we finally made our way through the snow and the wind. Ya. it actually snowed today......nate brought it with him!! how generous of him to share all that fun with us!!
we made our way through to asakusa and did a little more touring. I took nate to all a hundred yen store, and he went crazy!!! we're definately going back there pretty soon;)
the party was scheduled for 6pm, but Takeshi and Hiroshi came at 4 to help us. so the 4 of us went out shopping for sushi stuff. It was great! I had the guys carry everything!!
anywayz..... we made the sushi rice and started stuffing rice in bean pouches when Mizuki came. she was ON TIME!!! she helped the guys cut the fish and prepare the meal.
nate told me it was a fun party even though he couldn't understand more than half of what was going on, so that made me really happy!!
momoko, saya, aya, hiroshi, yumiko, jun, yuri, nate

hello.
it was past 4 when I saw nate coming throught the gate at narita airport.
yes, my people, my friend nate from ogden is here and I'm really excited!!!!
first off, we went to my parents' office only to walk home with my mom.
after that, we took a walk to asakusa, munched on sweets and finally went into a sushi bar. (one of those that I could afford going into ;)
there nate and I got stuffed with fish. came home and watched tv and spaced out. nate was totally out of it. I just saw him off to bed and I'm thinking it's time for me to do the same as well.
good night kidz!!

poor boyz had to put up with us girls watching this fabulous game..;)

the whole family was there watching this year. My dad, mom, bro Keita, Yushi and I. Keita had to leave at 7:00, but that was okay. he doen't like it when we scream at the TV anyways....
the re-run of the game started at 6:30 at night, so we ate dinner in the living room(this doesn't happen often, especially when dad's home ;) we had nachos, hot dogs and hambergers. and o ya, some chips too. the Hatches left some Salsa for us, so we gladly had it for dinner tonight.

we had little America going on here!
This year was the patiots vs the who???? o ya, the giants.
pop-corn!!!!!!
dad burnt the first batch, so mom had to hurry and make the second one;)
↓ this is me smushing delicious pop-corn into Yushi's mouth! yummy!!

let me tell ya, me and my mom were all for the patriots. we were SOOOOO sure we were the winners....
we didn't like how the game started off at first. I mean, 3-0 to the giants? you gotta be kidding me. the patriots haden't lost one stupid game in the whole season. there is nooo way they're gonna lose.

mom had to change positions with dad case everytime someone would make a pass, dad would reach out for the pop-corn and block mom's view. she was pretty mad;)
they were ahead by 4 points up to the last 2 minutes. I must admit, Brady was getting a little slippery, but who would've thought it would come to an end like that!!! it totally was a pooping moment for me and my beloved mother, but o well, I think I would have to say it was a pretty good game. they had us believing the patriots would win up til then.
GOOD GAME GUYS!!!

GOOD GAME GUYS!!!
the past 2 days have been really nice and refreshing.
I was able to enjoy Yushi's company for 2 short days in Hakone.
I caught a cold around Saturday morning and was staying in bed for two days straight. I lost some weight since I wasn't eating much, but luckily (NOT!!!) I was able to regain it more quickly than I had expected;)
anywayz....... Yushi came a picked me up at around 10 in the morning on the 28th. We headed straight out and were able to get there in 2 hours with mild traffic on the highway. Hakone was a little tourist place in Kanagawa Prefecture. it was a nice a quiet town with lots of old folks. (Yushi said it was because it was a weekday)
I had made some banana chocolate chip cookies the night before for the drive up. you know gramma brown's recipi?? of course you know! it's the ultimate favorite of the brown family!!!! Anne gave me the recipi of it cause I KNEW she had that for sure;) It didn't quite turn out as I expected, but it still was ok, and Yushi just LOVED EM!!!!!! we had a great time. there were only two in the car, but I didn't have a hard time at all making it sound like we had more than 5!!
first thing, we got there and had lunch. I had a mix fish fry lunch and Yushi had a black bas fry lunch. we got on a ferry looking boat thingy and went to a place called Hakone en. we went up the mountain with a gondola. it was FREEZING!!
you see that little thing poking out in the back?? ya, that little white thing! look at that baby, that's Mt. Fuji!
that's right Aiden, THAT is the FUJI you're mom and dad taught you;)
ok, next picture.
this is one of the weird signs I saw up there.
I'm thinking they wanted to say
"keep closed at all times"
or
"shut the door"
or
"you will freeze to death if you don't close this stupid door."
I don't know about you guys, but I'm going for the 3rd translation myself;)
After this, we decided that this was about enough of freezing our butts for the day, so we headed to our hotel. it was nothing too fancy, but just right. the Onsen was great! the water in the tub was whitish and it definately made my skin nice and smooth.

this is us in the Japanese traditional bathrobe called Yukata, but I'm sure you all know this by now, huh? they use it a lot in Japanese hotels.
we took so many pictures of these, and this was the best one.
the 29th came and it was even COLDER!! we had snow, rain, and slush, and what else..... you name it, we got it! luckily, the roads weren't too bad, so we were safe, so no worries;)
we decided to paint pictures on these mugs as a souvenier.
it was pretty fun regardless of how mine turned out;)
after doing this, we decided to head back towards tokyo, but on our way back, we had to make a couple of stops. the first one was the glass gallary.or the Hakone Glass Forest is the real name, I guess. This picture is Yushi's personal favorite.

"The sky is falling!!"
and the other stop was the outlet malls. we stayed there for over two hours! it was fun! although we were not able to find anything to buy, it was still fun to spend some time together.
we drove home and I got back at about 9:30 in the evening.
got home just in time to watch bones with my beloved family;)

Party at Momoko's house!!!
Ikko, Koji, Tempei, Yuri, Jun
Takeshi, Aya, Yumiko, Mizuki, Momoko
why am i in the back with all the guys?? that's cause all the guys like me!! it's really hard to get them off me all the time!!( no, not really )
and plus I was one of the taller people..
these are my buddies from school.(this is about half the size of the group) they have been a real big part of my life in the past 4 years. we traveled together, took classes together, ate together, spent many nights laughing together and most important of all, laughing AT eachother!!! ;)
everybody comes from different backgrounds. some lived in the states, some in Singapore, Hongkong, Canada, Katar, Indonesia, and London. some have parents with different nationalities like Egypt and America and Chinese. This experience definately has been an eye opening to me. they taught me that everybody is different and therefore you shouldn't expect them to think the same way you do. taught me to have a broader perspective.
and this, talk about different kinds of people! it isn't everyday you get to see koji with this baby!! I am very proud to say that yes, we WERE able to finish up this chinese cabbage between the 10 of us!!
Koji, Jun and Momoko did most of the cooking as usual and it was really good stuff we had last night! yummy!!!
I was planning on going home within that day, but I sort of lost track of time and yes, I DID spend the night at her house. along with Ikko, Takeshi, Yumiko and Aya.
Thanks for having us over Momoko!!!
